Kingston Ridge Scout campsite is owned by Basildon District Scouts and run by the Kingston Ridge Scout Active Support Unit (KRSAS).
We own around 9 acres of woodland, grass fields and activity areas, and are surrounded by Essex Wildlife Trusts Langdon Reserve and Willow Park. Kingston Ridge is a campsite with wonderful facilities, a friendly and well qualified volunteer force, and a fantastic reputation to back it up. Despite its relatively central location, Kingston Ridge wouldn’t be out of place in the Cornish countryside yet still within walking distance of Basildon Town Centre.
The campsite is open for bookings from 1st April through to the end of October depending on the weather and ground conditions.

How To Find Us
We are in Lee Chapel Lane, Langdon Hills, and our nearest postcode is SS16 5PW.
For satnav users, enter the postcode SS16 5PW and select ‘1 Lee Chapel Lane’.
Your satnav will declare your destination part way along the lane, Continue on down the Lane until you see two gates.
If we are expecting you, the left hand gate will appear to be locked, but you will be able to open the gate. Please close it after you.
Drive a further 500m along the lane and our gates will be on your right. The lane is used by walkers, cyclists, horse riders etc so please drive carefully and stick to the 10mph speed limit.
Please report to the Duty Warden on arrival, they can usually be found by the containers to the left of the entrance gates.
Activities
We have a 90metre zip wire, a 11m free-standing climbing and abseiling tower, archery, air-rifle & hawk ranges, and slack lines, and for our younger members we have an abseiling slope (Beaver Crag), Beaver Towers and soft archery and nerf guns.
We also have a sports field, an adventure playground, pioneering equipment, and an orienteering course.
We will try to accommodate short notice bookings, but cannot guarantee the availability of the campsite, activity or instructor.
Campsite-led activities will finish 1 hour before sunset to allow our volunteer crew to pack up in daylight.

Bookings
1) To check the campsite is available for your preferred date, call our bookings secretary 07757 810891 or email bookings@kingstonridge.org.uk.
2) Fill in the booking form and email it to bookings@kingstonridge.org.uk.
3) Print and sign the booking form and post it together with your deposit cheque to the address on the form. Or pay by bank transfer.
4) Pay the balance, to be received by us 14 days before the start of your event.
5) On the day before your arrival, call to confirm your estimated time of arrival. Our wardens do not live on site, and need to know your arrival time. Please don’t keep them waiting, as they may have other appointments or responsibilities. Call our special number 07753 818154 if you are going to be late. This number is not for general use, it will only be active while waiting for you to arrive.

Booking Forms.
Before you send in your booking form, please contact us to ensure that the site and any activities wanted are available on the dates required.
We can make a provisional booking via phone, text or email. But please note that your booking will not become a confirmed booking until we receive a completed booking form and deposit. A provisional booking will be automatically cancelled after 1 month if it is not confirmed.

Private Party and Event Bookings
We do accept some private parties such as wedding receptions etc, but we limit these to preserve the campsite for scouts and other youth groups. Please contact our bookings secretary to discuss your requirements. 07757 810891 or bookings@kingstonridge.org.uk.
